Hey guys! I’m Katie Dawn.

Here to capture all the raw, real, and perfectly imperfect moments of your love story.

I’m a born and raised Coloradan that spent my childhood around campfires making s’mores in the summer and snowboarding in the winter. I’ve been everywhere in the Rockies from New Mexico up to Canada and . I live in Oregon, now, and spend my summers photographing my couples elopements in the wild and camping in my Astro van.

I’ve always had a knack for all kinds of art since I was a kid- ceramics, painting, drawing, you name it. I started photography when I was just 15 and terminally scrolling Tumblr, and it’s been a wrap ever since then. I accidentally became a wedding photographer when all my friends started getting married shortly after high school, and in 2020 switched over to specializing in elopements and small weddings.

Now I get to combine my love and vast knowledge of the outdoors with my passion for photography to help my couples plan meaningful days.

Why Elopements?

I want to create a meaningful experience focused on you.

After shooting tons of traditional weddings, I realized what really stuck with me were the intimate moments with just the couple and their closest people. The rest felt like a repeat: cookie-cutter vows and recycled decor from Pinterest.

When I discovered there was a niche that allowed me to shoot Colorado wedding photos capturing real emotions without all the fluff, I was sold.

Small Gatherings are hands down the best way to get married.

It’s sad when couples say they barely remember their wedding day because it went by in a blur or they made decisions they wouldn't normally have made to keep others happy.

Your wedding day should be about you as a couple, and honestly, it’s way easier to do that without the pressures of a traditional wedding.

Eloping allows you the freedom to be truly yourself.

It’s an honor to help plan and capture memories that last forever, sometimes even as the only witness. Helping you create a day that’s uniquely yours is what I’m all about.

Anybody can take photos – you don’t need a degree or certificate – but I have a few just to be extra prepared.

Bachelor of Fine Arts

I have extensive knowledge and background in art history and various art mediums, including both digital and film photography (and a bunch of other art forms too).

Ordained Officiant

Just call me Reverend Katie! I’m ordained in almost all 50 states, so if you need a last-minute officiant or want to keep it super intimate, I’m your girl.

CPR + First Aid Certified

Wilderness adventures are wild, and I’m ready for anything. I’m also trained to keep you safe, just in case.

LGBTQ+ Ally

Love is love, and I’m here for all of it. I’ll photograph and officiate any love story with zero hesitation.

Leave No Trace

I love the outdoors, and I practice and preach leave no trace. How we find it is how we leave it!
